Canadian Exploration
Corey Kerr
Trees upon trees everywhere that you go
Mountains covered with layers of snow
With beautiful sites and places to see
There is nowhere that I’d rather be
With Ontario, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg
I’m as happy as a college student with a keg
To explore this humble and beautiful land
You may need to bring a few helping hands
So bring different people from different cultures
The thought of Canada makes them hungry like vultures
All cultures are welcome, it makes us as oneSo come to Canada for loads of fun
Response:
This poem is well written. Corey has a great sense of what Canada is really about. I feel that his poem covers a lot of what Canada is really about. Corey uses similes in his poem “I’m as happy as a college student with a keg”. This is a good example because it is true and also funny. I chose to write a response to this poem because Corey and I are good friends so I wanted to see how good he was at English. It turns out that Corey is a very talented writer and I think that this poem is well done as well as funny.
